I know when people hear about “Budget” or “Budgeting“, they are afraid they will have to sacrifice something. In fact, their first perception about budget is wrong and do not believe in budgeting. Such minded will cause them financial matters in the future.
So, let Wikipedia tells you what is “Budget“, Budget is referring to a list of all planned expenses and revenues. It is a plan for saving and spending. A budget is an important concept in microeconomics, which uses a budget line to illustrate the trade-offs between two or more goods.
What makes people from stopping budgeting?
Even though budgeting is a perfect tool for managing personal finance but still a lot people don’t think budgeting is applicable to them. They just ignore it or pretend not to hear it. Therefore let us discover a few common fears of budgeting that contribute to the reluctance of people in budgeting.
Common Fear 1: I’m fine, I don’t need to budget
No one is fine without budgeting, unless you own a cash machine which can print out the cash for you. If not, please face the truth that you need budgeting even you get a big salary or plenty of money in the bank. Budgeting wisely will ensure your hard-earned money is being put to best purpose. For example, if you knew how much money you spend on purchasing clothes every month, you can easily to reduce the spending and save the money for better purpose.
Common Fear 2: I don’t want to give up something
People are afraid to give up or sacrifice something which they had enjoyed for a long time. They thought they will suffer if they plan for budgeting. This kind of false perception has ruined the true meaning of budget. Who says budgeting means spending as little money as possible? If you’re able to save at least 10% of your income each month, you’re good enough to make sure that you’re not overspend more than you earned. It’ll help you greatly what’s your financial status and where your money is spending.
Common Fear 3: Budgeting will Take More Time
As the saying goes, the sooner you start to do budget, the sooner you can enjoy the reaping. It’s always not easy to take the first step, but once you take a step forward; you will not regret anymore with your initial decision. Time is the best tool to measure success of using budgeting, as time goes by; you will surprise that your money is increasing and the dream of financial freedom is coming so closer than before.
Common Fear 4: No Worry About Current Job
Some people might think their current jobs are highly secure. In fact, no one’s job is fully secure because you cannot predict the future of your company. People tend to think that tragedy and bad things won’t happen to them but there are posibilities that you might lose the job due to unforeseen circumstances. Therefore, always be prepared to lose a job so that you are more alert with your monthly living expenses.
Common Fear 5: Sorry, I’m an idiot at budgeting
Come on, this is just your excuse to escape from budgeting. If you really don’t know about budgeting, find some free budgeting software online and you can rely on them even you know nothing about math. Besides that, you can hire a certified financial planner out there to help you manage the budget. With that, I don’t see anything else will stop you to do your own budget.

Great article and I’m agree with you totally.
Budgeting is one of the most important segment in planning anything. Without budgeting plan, basically you have no plan at all. From my experience, I budget everything I do or purchase because it will seriously affect the outcome. Perhaps, people who don’t “budget” should visit your blog to learn more about financial planning.
